Plot

Jasmine Wilde (Olivia Newton-John) is a single mother and a former singing star trying to life a normal life in a Georgia town with her teenage daughter Izzy (Chloe Rose Lattanzi). Following a spectacular performance at her high school talent show, Izzy is contacted by Dan Vito (Robert Lewis Stephenson), a record producer who wants to bring her to Los Angeles to jump start her recording career. When Izzy discovers old magazine covers featuring her mother, Jasmine explains to her daughter she was once a major recording artist, but that she abandoned her singing career for a more normal life for her daughter.

While in Los Angeles, Jasmine contacts Izzy's father Toby (Jerome Ehlers), a musician who pursued his music career instead of raising his daughter, and she persuades him to meet Izzy at her recording studio.
